Dog-Friendly Holiday Parties: Peppermint Holidog Christmas Dog Treat Recipe And Other Paw-Some Things To Do

No holiday can ever be perfect for furry pet parents without their doggos by their side. You might not know, but your dogs look forward to these holidays as much as you do. They bounce around in the snow, enjoying Christmas jingles, and watching the lights shine in every home.

But what if we told you that you could make them even happier? That’s right. This Christmas, when you step into the kitchen to make tasty treats, make this very special Peppermint Holidog Christmas Dog Treat to make your pet extra happy:

*This recipe will make about 24 medium-sized cookies*

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp molasses
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • Two tbs olive water
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract

Directions:

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Then in a large bowl, add flour, molasses, water, peanut butter, peppermint extract, olive oil, and mix until it’s smooth.
  3. Plop the dough on a flat surface and knead using extra flour.
  4. Once it’s smooth, roll it out to a quarter-inch of thickness.
  5. Cut out your desired shapes using festive cookie cutters and place them on a non-stick cookie sheet.
  6. Pop it in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Cool on a wire rack and store in a sealed container.

Tip: Want to be a little fancy? Get some dog-friendly icing to decorate the cookies and make your doggo feel extra special.

Doggo Gifts Under the Tree

When you put in extra effort for the other loved ones in your life, then your doggo deserves some effort too. Many doggos love tearing the wrapping apart to find out what’s underneath. Imagine tearing it up and finding a toy they’d wanted for a while? Pure happiness!

Dressing Up

Are you planning to get matching clothes for your entire family? Don’t leave your doggo out and make them feel like a part of your family with a matching dress. Whether it’s a simple hat and boot set or a Christmas-themed sweater, they’ll love it all so much.

Set up some paw-some dog-friendly props with a festive backdrop so that you and your fam can snap some of the best holiday pictures ever.
