We collect information directly from you when you provide it, automatically as you navigate the App and Website, and through specialized features.

• Account Registration: Name, email address, password, phone number, and any profile details you create for yourself and your dog.
• User-Generated Content (UGC): Posts, photos, comments, safety alerts, and event details you intentionally publish to the public or local community feeds.
• Interactive Messaging Data: When you use our 1-to-1 messaging ("Direct Messages," "Chat," "Playdate Coordinators"), we collect and securely transmit the contents of those communications, text strings, images, media attachments, and message metadata (such as timestamps and delivery statuses).

• Playdates & Distance Matching: When you utilize the Playdates feature, we collect your location to find compatible dogs nearby, your dog’s profile characteristics, and your playdate match history (such as invitations sent, accepted, or declined).

DogHood does not continuously track your real-time location in the background unless you grant specific device permissions

• Nearby Dogs Visibility: When enabled, your dog’s profile (name, photo, and approximate distance) is visible to nearby users. We display only an approximate distance label (e.g., "0.5 miles away")—your precise street address or live physical coordinates are never exposed to other users.
• Discover Map: We use your device's location data to surface localized events, dog parks, and services on the interactive map.

When you purchase a subscription or paid event ticket through DogHood, all transaction processing is handled securely by third-party providers (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe). We do not store your full credit card numbers or bank credentials on our servers. We only retain:

• Subscription details (plan tier, status, duration, and start/end dates).
• Tokenized transaction IDs and payment confirmation status.
• Billing country and currency for accounting/tax compliance.

As you navigate our platforms, we may use cookies, web beacons, and device identifiers to collect details regarding your internet connection, IP address, operating system, browser type, and general app usage patterns to keep your session securely logged in and optimize app performance.

To prevent spam, harassment, and unsolicited commercial text solicitation, the App utilizes an explicit Invitation and Handshake Architecture. A user cannot open a direct chat thread with another member without first issuing a formal digital invitation. Communication streams are only active, and message text only delivered, upon the explicit acceptance ("Handshake Approval") by the receiving party. You retain the right to ignore or decline invitations at any time.

In compliance with mobile marketplace guidelines, any user can instantly block or report another user or message thread directly from the chat screen.

• Private messages are not routinely monitored. Message content may only be accessed when a user submits a report, when required by law, or when necessary to investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, or violations of our Terms
• Enforcement: We reserve the right to review reported content, implement automated text filtering for profanity/spam, and permanently suspend or ban accounts that engage in harassment, hate speech, bullying, scams, or malicious activity. Messages may be processed by automated systems to detect spam, fraud, abuse, or violations of community guidelines

Private 1-to-1 messaging on DogHood is strictly reserved for individual dog parent profiles to foster organic peer connections. Commercial profiles—including pet businesses, brands, and local service providers who maintain a business profile on the app—are completely barred from accessing the direct messaging feature. Commercial accounts cannot initiate, view, or participate in private user communications, preventing unsolicited business solicitation.
D. Content Moderation and Removal Rights

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to review, hide, restrict, remove, or delete any user-generated content, including posts, comments, photos, videos, messages, event listings, profile content, safety alerts, or other submissions, if we believe such content violates our Terms, Community Guidelines, safety standards, legal obligations, or may harm users, animals, the community, or the platform. We may also suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts associated with repeated or serious violations.

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the core functionalities of the Website and App.
• Securely transmit direct messages, coordinate localized playdates, and display geographic map layers.
• Manage, renew, or update your premium account subscriptions.
• Notify you of account alerts, system updates, and policy amendments.
• Ensure community safety, monitor for guideline violations, and address fraudulent activities.
• Private messages are not reviewed by humans on a routine basis. However, message content may be accessed when a user submits a report, when required by law, or when necessary to investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, harassment, spam, or violations of our Terms or Community Guidelines. Automated systems may process messages and related metadata to detect spam, fraud, abuse, safety risks, or policy violations.

We handle your personal data carefully and restrict how it is shared:

• Third-Party Infrastructure Support: Direct messaging data, text strings, and multimedia attachments are hosted and synchronized via secured, tokenized cloud databases provided by specialized sub-processors (Google Cloud Platform / Firebase Firestore).
• Service Compliance: We disclose transaction information to mobile platform operators (Apple and Google) to validate paid app tiers.
• Legal Protections: We may disclose personal information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety, property, and core rights of MyDogHood Corp, our users, or the public.
• No Sale of Data: DogHood does not sell your personal information or location histories to data brokers or third-party marketing entities.

We provide you with clear pathways to control your data directly through your profile settings or by contacting us at support@thedoghood.com:

• Access & Corrections: You can review, update, or edit your personal account or pet profile at any time.
• Account Deletion: You have the right to delete your account. Upon account deletion, your personal profile data is purged, and public-facing User Contributions are decoupled or removed from active databases, subject to standard legal retention exceptions (such as accounting or transaction records).
• Location Controls: You can revoke or change location tracking permissions at any time through your iOS or Android mobile device system settings.

Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal details, they will be deleted immediately.

This section applies strictly to residents of the State of California. Over the past 12 months, we have collected identifiers (name, email, IP address) and device activity metrics for operational platform purposes.
